Rice University – Cambridge Office Building Garage

An iconic custom-printed tensile mesh facade on the Rice University parking garage in Houston, Texas mirrors a nearby oak grove. Trapezoidal mesh panels were installed on an aluminum tension and steel tube structure fabricated by Shawnee Steel & Welding that allows the panels to lay flat against the seven-story building until the panels reach the treeline. At that point, they begin to rotate on their steel structure away from the building, acting as a sculpture.
