Sylvan Avenue Bridge Railing

Dallas, Texas

The Sylvan Avenue Bridge in Dallas provides both pedestrian and vehicular access across the Trinity River and to the nearby Trammell Crow Park and Trinity Skyline Trail. Shawnee Steel & Welding fabricated 7,500 lineal feet of specialty pedestrian railing for the bridge, working hand in hand with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the City of Dallas to achieve the desired architecture. The design called for a special feature in which color shifts from blue to green would create a visual of moving water as traffic moved past the bridge. Shawnee Steel produced brushed stainless steel panels for the exterior facade of the bridge. Dimples inside these custom panels capture and reflect the light as the architects intended.
